“…and the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom” –Anais Nin

“Have you tried everything to move forward from past wounds and can’t seem to get unstuck?

Are you feeling like your loved ones or those around you don’t understand the intensity of the pain you feel or want you to get over it?

So many of us face difficult life experiences that we are expected to recover from without much support.  Yet finding a way to move through that pain seems impossible at times.

You might feel so consumed by your hard experiences that you can’t seem to find an ounce of relief, even in the things you used to enjoy.  Or it becomes easier to tune out from yourself and your difficult memories than to stay connected to the pain.

The difficulties of life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed. But you don’t have to deal with this alone. I am here to provide a nourishing and accepting space, where you can gain insight about what you need to heal from past or current wounds.

I use EMDR therapy and mindfulness techniques to help clients like you get unstuck from painful experiences and move forward in life with greater self-awareness and a renewed confidence in your ability to heal.

I specialize in helping individuals integrate painful memories and experiences especially in the following areas:

Individuals in the LGBTQ+ family dealing with the coming out processwounds from loved ones or a spiritual community, or those searching for a vibrant, affirming community where they can live authentically.

Ready to get unstuck? Contact me at 512-387-1259 or email me at celia@sanctuarycounselingaustin.com to set up a free 30-minute, in-person consultation with me. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.”

A note from the clinical director:  As a member of the LGBTQ+ community herself, Celia brings both personal and professional interest to the matter of trauma recovery and support for those facing discrimination and marginalization.

Celia is especially committed to offering sanctuary for those who have been ostracized or wounded by their families or spiritual communities due to their sexual and/or gender identities.  Celia cultivates a feminist perspective in her clinical work, understanding how social and cultural pressures and discrimination impact our mental health.  Trained in EMDR therapy, Celia offers trauma therapy and counseling for PTSD.
